ESL/Migrant Announcements

Administrators:

As you wrap up testing, please place the headphones with microphones in safe storage for next year’s assessments. The district will not be buying another bulk batch, so please take care of the ones given to you.

Also, beginning April 14th the Migrant department will be officially transition to the ESL department. We will now be the ESL/Migrant Department.

Elementary Gifted Showcase

This Thursday April 14th, from 5:30-6:30pm at the Central Office and Training Center Rooms 131, 132 and 133 the elementary gifted students in grades 3-5 will be showcasing their in-depth study of countries from around the world. Students will also be displaying the results of their summit meetings as they address an international concern from the perspective of their chosen count

Greetings!

Clarification. Teachers, support staff, administrators, parents, students, and community members are all cordially invited to join KCKPS and a host of Kansas City area professionals on Wednesday, April 27, at the Schlagle High School Auditorium, for a special screening of the new education documentary, Most Likely to Succeed, based on the book by the same title. Doors open at 5:00pm, hors d???oeuvres and refreshments will be provided. The screening will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. Please plan to stick around after the screening for a short panel discussion.

Sal Khan from Khan Academy said, ???the 21st century is going to be all about building, creating, and innovating. This remarkable film shows a path of how we can empower all of our children to do that.??? For more information on the movie, please visit http://mltsfilm.org/

Please bring back the classroom design materials you created at the last meeting. You will be sitting with the same group you worked with last time. Lump Sum for Classified

In an effort to support staff, the district is opening the option for lump sum payment to all staff except for:
261 day employees
NEATCH (already allowed, deadline remains of April 1st)
Administrators
Public Library employees

Staff electing a Lump Sum payout and who are not part of the groups listed above need to complete the attached forms.

Form 1
Election Form ??? needs to be completed to request a Lump Sum Payroll. This form must be returned to Lisa Wilson, HR no later than 4/29/16.

Form 2
Withholding Form ??? needs to be completed and returned to Lisa Wilson, HR no later than 5/16/16.

Principal Secretaries have been asked to print out forms and distribute to employees within your buildings. Additionally, please note, the lump sum deadline for teachers remains at April 1, 2016!

Technology Purchases for the Classroom

The District has purchased technology listed below for the classroom. It is our goal to distribute the technology before the end of the school year. Please note that these items cannot leave the classroom. They do not go home with the students.
