New Business Card and Stationery Designs for the School District

From Mike Keener
The KCKPS Communications Team is proud to present an all-new design for district business cards. Below is an example of the new design.

As noted in the photo, the card is designed to handle two full lines of text for an official position and credentials (if needed), but no more than that, in the interest of business card legibility. If you have specific instructions on what order credentials should go on a card, you can request them from the print shop, but the print shop cannot add extra lines for credentials, nor can they shrink the text size to fit more on one line (again, the legibility of the card information is of utmost importance). Lastly, finalized business cards will all utilize Futura as the sole printed font (if you do not have this font, it will be modified before printing). Attached below is the Microsoft Publisher-based template for your staff to utilize for new business cards (again, please do not change any font settings).

Additionally, the KCKPS Communications Team is also proud to present an all-new letterhead (attached below). Not only have we designed new letterhead for the district at large, but we have also designed a specific letterhead designed for each school, as well as most non-Central Office based departments for your use. The header and footer are locked, and the official use font for the letterhead template is Georgia (which both Mac and Windows systems have pre-installed). Please use no other fonts on this letterhead.

In the coming week, you will receive an email with a copy of this letterhead; before you start using it, we need each of you to confirm that the information on the letterhead is up to date and correct (addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, etc.).

One last (but important!) note: Please do NOT order either of these items in place of existing business cards or letterheads; instead, please use up the stationery items that you currently have, and then order the new stationery from the print shop.

Also, be on the lookout for a new “Thank You” card design in the next week or so.

Back To School Night

From Tanesha McCluney
Greetings,

I hope everyone is gearing up for another great school year!

It seems our parents are just as excited about the new school year beginning because of the inquiries the switchboard is receiving about the dates and times of the Back to School Night events at your locations. Would you be able to share those dates and times with me so I can respond to those parents who call the school district? I know this information has been mailed to the homes of students, but our parents are anxious to know the details.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call me.

Infinite Campus Teacher Training Preparation

Greetings,

All schools will receive a 2 hour Infinite Campus training session for teachers on either August 7th, 8th or 9th. All training sessions will be conducted at your building; if you have more than one session they will all be held at the same time. Please see the attachment for the most recent schedule of dates and times. We will be sending each principal a list on Monday of staff that successfully opted out of the building training and therefore are not required to attend as well as a list of teachers expected to attend.

In order to be prepared for training, please ask your teachers to make sure they can log-in to Infinite Campus (https://ic.kckps.org/campus/kansascity.jsp ) by using their e-mail user name (firstname.lastname) and e-mail password. If you have teachers that are unable to log-in, please have them e-mail Support and copy myself, Penny Atchley and Michelle Gould.

In addition, please make sure that you have available space for the session(s) scheduled for your building. You can use either computer labs or classrooms with teachers bringing a fully charged laptop. If you use classrooms and have multiple training sessions, please make sure they are spread out to avoid jamming up the wireless. Please make sure that each room has access to a projector and screen.

If you have any questions about this issue, or any other, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you very much!!!!!

From Melissa Fears

  • 9:00 a.m. at Memorial Hall, 600 N. 7th St.
  • Doors open at 7:30 a.m.

A video will be available for those unable to attend the event.

TRANSPORTATION

Due to the very limited parking in the downtown area, transportation will be provided to Memorial Hall. The district???s Transportation Department will be transporting staff to and from the event. Buses will begin making runs at 6:45 a.m. from the following locations:

  • F.L. Schlagle High School, 2214 N. 59th St.
  • J.C. Harmon High School, 2400 Steele Rd.
  • Sumner Academy of Arts and Science, 1610 N. 8th St.

Bus drivers will be letting out passengers close to the curb to enter Memorial Hall.

Staff with disability needs should plan to arrive early for floor seating at the event.

The buses returning staff to the school district site locations will have the name of their location displayed in a window.

Thank you and welcome back!
