Organizational Changes in HR

from Ana Perez-Sievert
Please review the updated organizational chart for changes in the HR Department. These changes were made after a review of our processes in both HR Compliance and Recruitment. We believe these
changes are necessary to best support our district as we become a Top 10 District.

As always, we appreciate your support. We have provided contact information for all the major areas. However, you can always reach out to our main line at 913-279-2262 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Math/STEM Relays Help Needed

from Julie Leach
KCKPS will host its Math/STEM Relays event on Saturday, February 29 at Wyandotte High School. This event brings together elementary, middle and high school students for a day of math problem solving that challenges their minds and advances their math skills. We anticipate an estimated 700+ students to take part in the event.

The ongoing success of Math Relays is due to the individuals who assist us by serving as event facilitators. Event facilitators may facilitate and judge events or facilitate BreakoutEDU sessions at both elementary and secondary levels. Event Facilitators will work from 8am until approx. 1pm on March 3rd and will be paid at the extra-duty hourly rate.

If you are interested in facilitating, click the link below for more detailed descriptions and to sign up to facilitate. Confirmation with more specific details will be sent the week of February 17.

Parents-Right-To-Know Letters for Long-Term Substitutes

from Lisa Walker
A reminder that Federal Program guidelines require buildings receiving Title I funds to notify parents any time their child receives instruction for four weeks or more without a highly qualified teacher in the classroom. Templates for these individual classroom situations are located in the Required (General) Federal Documents 19-20 folder in the Federal Programs shared drive.

As these situations continue to occur during 1920 SY, please remember to use these Parents-Right-To-Know templates to inform families of long-term substitutes. Once you send out the letter, please provide Bridgette DeSmet with a signed copy on school letterhead and we will retain copies for the 1920 SY compliance report. Thanks for your help and let us know if there are questions.
