Items to Bring to November Principals’ Meeting

from Lisa Walker
At the November 5th Principals’ Meeting, we will move into the next phase of our district-wide School Improvement Planning process. We’ll continue our learning by sharing our Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) progress and start moving into linking causation to interventions based on our findings.

Please complete and bring a copy of the attached spreadsheet that captures your RCA work to date. Sheets should be an authentic reflection of your building’s progress, so please know there are no right or wrong answers!

Additionally, please bring a copy of (or have digital access to) your 60 Day Plan.

We look forward to the collaboration!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Progress Update for Mandatory Trainings, 2019-20

from Lisa Walker
Thanks for your support in helping staff members complete the 2019-20 mandatory trainings in the Professional Growth platform on Frontline.

At the present time, approximately 45% of all district employees have completed the trainings. Please continue to encourage all staff members to complete the required trainings by our deadline of Friday, November 8, 2019.

Questions can be referred to your building IDP representatives if staff members experience problems logging into the system or accessing trainings. If needed, IDP representatives can also provide additional assistance for closed caption features and transcripts, for staff members unable to access the audio on the trainings.

Questions that cannot be answered by an IDP representative can be referred to Jared.Alexander@kckps.org.

Family Perception Survey Open Through 11/1/19

from Lisa Walker
As of Friday, 10/18/19, we had approximately 2,000 responses for the district’s Family Perception Survey. Several individual buildings have strong results! Since low response rates impact validity and we want each campus to have access to this valuable data, the survey will remain open through close of business on Friday, November 1, 2019.

Please work with your teams to brainstorm ways we can get increases in our response data from our families. While it may be more challenging without the benefit of face-to-face access through Family Advocacy Days, this information is critical to developing school improvement plans that include perspectives from ALL stakeholders.

Engaging our families is a critical component of changing our student achievement outcomes. We appreciate your help in accomplishing this goal.
