HR Update: Recommending Candidates for Hire

The busy hiring season is upon us! As a reminder, to recommend a candidate for hire, please be sure to follow these steps:

1. Forward back to the appropriate HR Advisor the Talent Ed email you received notifying you of the candidate application
2. Delete the entire subject of the email and change the subject to “PLEASE HIRE”
3. In the body of the email, please confirm the certified grade level, certified core content area or classified position details if not included in the original posting, who the candidate would be replacing* and any special notes (such as extra days, stipend, schedule, etc.) that would be helpful to the Advisor when making the offer. (*This information will be required before an offer can be extended. For new allocations, simply indicate as such.)

Screenshots and steps are also outlined on the attached document from the July 2016 Administrator’s Meeting. Thank you for your continued support of this recommendation process and for ensuring that all candidates (certified and classified, internal and external) you wish to hire are submitted to HR in this way.

Please plan for your secretaries, counselors, and registrars to attend the enrollment training/procedures for the 2017-18 Kindergarten Roundup.

This training is schedule to be held on Wednesday, April 12th at Central Office in the Computer Lab located on the second floor.

IMPORTANT – ESI Information on School Websites

The State of Kansas requires we make Emergency Safety Intervention (ESI) Information available to the public on our district website and all individual school websites.

Right now, each live school page has links to this information, whether placed onsite by school staff or by myself.

It is imperative that these links not be moved from their present placement. If you want to move it to another page, you must first contact me so I can be sure that we are in compliance (we have restrictions on where we place this information). We have a master list of every school site, as well as where ESI information can be found on each site, and we need to keep it up to date. If you have any questions, you can contact me.

As a reminder, evaluations are due on Monday, April 10 for the following groups:

2nd semester certified employees years one and two
2nd semester certified employees on warning status
2nd semester administrators years one and two
