500 Reach for Non-Graduating Class of 2018 Students

Please Note:
Beginning June 12, 2018 students who did not graduate with their Class of 2018 may register directly with 500 Reach to??take virtual classes through Edgenuity. (These students do??not??need to schedule an appointment with the Alternative Services Coordinator, Donna Devine.)

500 Reach classes begin in August, 2018.

The procedure for Class of 2018 students to take classes at 500 Reach is:

1.)??Register at the??500 Reach office, located at??7704 Parallel Parkway, KCK 66112

  • Register in person (with a parent/guardian if under the age of 18. (Registration appointment not required, but appreciated 913/287-1718.)

and

  • Provide proof of KANSAS residency within the USD 500 boundaries if student is 18 or younger.

2.)??Attend??Orientation

  • Orientations begin the week of August 13, 2018

3.) Begin virtual classwork upon completion of Orientation

500 Reach Summer Hours are:
June: Selected Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 am ??? 4pm, 6/12, 6/13, 6/19, 6/20, /6/26, 6/27
July: Selected Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 am ??? 4 pm, 7/10, 7/11, 7/17, 7/18, 7/24, 7/25

Summer office hours are subject to change without notice. Please call ahead to verify office hours at 913 287-1718

Please send the name of your IDP Representative for the 2018-2019 school year to Ana Perez-Sievert by Thursday, May 10. Please keep in mind that this position is an extra duty position as outlined in the Teacher’s Negotiated Agreement and currently pays a stipend of $550.00 per year. Also be advised that the new Frontline Professional Growth will be our system going forward.

The window for the Spring Fountas & Pinnell collection is now open and runs through May 18th with data entry into STS due on May 24th (please see the attached step-by-step guide to entering scores into STS). All students in grades K-5 are to be formally assessed during the window. Schools will receive excel files formatted to print to assist with collection by the end of this week. If you have any questions regarding Spring F&P testing, please do not hesitate to contact David Rand or Samantha Bradshaw. Thank you very much!!!!!

Please send the following reminder to your certified staff regarding the Lump Sum option for this year:

As a reminder, Teacher Lump Sum Forms are due April 30, 2018. Teachers who wish to request a lump sum, or those who wish to rescind their lump sum election from the year prior, must complete the form. The form is attached and is also available via Staff Intranet under District Forms and Manuals

Lump Sum payments will be issued in full on the June 15, 2018 payroll and will consist of payment amounts for the June and July pay periods.
