Science Cadre Opportunity

From Teri Fulton
The Next Generation Science Standards Cadre will be starting up again and I would appreciate recommendation for teachers from your building. This is a small Cadre dedicated to engaging in work involving the Next Generation Science Standards and their integration into Curriculum.

Learning Goals for the NGSS Cadre 2015-16:
??? Identify the alignment between the Learning Goals and the Performance Tasks
??? Identify student work that reflects that alignment
??? Develop an understanding of the Engineering components in NGSS within the three Science strands

Criteria for Selection:
??? Have a working understanding of Next Generation Science Standards, their various components, and intent

To ensure equity among buildings, teacher application does not guarantee acceptance into cadre. If you have teachers who are interested, please forward them this email, along with this link to apply by October 1.

Event Security

From Michael Webb
Please remember to get your permits (for events) approved as far in advance as possible to ensure we can arrange for security at your events. Since the permitting system does not allow entries for events taking place off of school district property, please be sure to notify your school officer, call us, or email us so we can arrange appropriate security for your event taking place at an outside venue.
