Kidzone sites will be open December 21st – 23rd from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm;
CLOSED the week of December 26-30
Open January 2nd and 3rd from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm and will resume normal before and after school hours on Wednesday, January 4th. For more information, please contact the Kidzone office at (913)627-4390.

Give the Gift of Attendance this year!
All families want what is best for their children, but they don???t always realize how absences can add up to academic problems. Sometimes they allow children to miss school when it???s not absolutely necessary. This often happens before and after the winter holidays, as families try to squeeze a few more days out of the vacation season. Principals and teachers have an opportunity to reduce holiday absences by ensuring that parents and students understand the toll that absenteeism takes on achievement.
Encourage teachers to talk to students about the importance of showing up in the days before and after the holiday break.
Plan a special event for the first day after the holiday break. If possible, create a contest or find ways to recognize good attendance.

Sister Act – Sumner musical matinee

Sumner Academy will perform a matinee of Sister Act on January 20. The show begins at 2:00 p.m. and will conclude at 3:00 p.m.
Upper level elementary and middle school students are invited. Tickets: $1.00
To reserve tickets, email Becky Thomas (becky.thomas@kckps.org) with the number of students and the number of adults attending.
Schools are responsible for their own transportation arrangements. Drop students at the front of the building. Pick up students at the back of the building.

2017 Elementary Math Relays Coaches Needed

It’s time to start thinking about Elementary Math Relays and identifying your coaches for the competition. Please forward this to teachers that would be interested in coaching 4th and 5th grade math teams.

COATS FOR KIDS

Greetings; we are beyond grateful for our partnership with KMBZ 98.1-FM. KMBZ delivered approximately 1000 new and gently used coats on Saturday. We have a combination of adult, young adult, youth and toddler sizes. The coats are available for pick up beginning Tuesday, December 13. Please send only a building representative to pick up coats and please note all staff will need their employee badge. Please have all parents and/or students pick up coats at the schools and not North Central Office.
Coats are located at North Central Office on the upper level. Please use the far north entrance. Below are the hours of operation:
