Enter PreK Experience in SILK

From Kimberly Shaw
Please ask your attendance clerk to enter the pre-school experience in SILK for all kindergarten students. To do this, click on the Services and Guidance tab. Select Services and then click new. Then click on Service and select PreSchool Program and then under Service Provider select the pre-school.
Please share this with your attendance clerks and ask that this be completed by end of day October 15th, 2015.

ESL Announcements

From Kristen Scott
n our ESL department professional learning on October 9th we went over MAP data. Your ESL staff will be creating a plan for your building and they will then present it to you. We ask that you help them refine the plan based on your building priorities. The deadline for submitting the plan will be mid second quarter; and a template will be provided to the ESL staff.

We also clarified that aides and translators are not to be translating instructional materials; this is not our program. If you have specific questions about this please email Kristen Scott.

Nutritional Services Video

From Josh Mathiasmeier
The Nutritional Services staff is looking for a class or group of students to produce a video reflecting ???A Day in the Life of Nutritional Services???. This video will assist us in recruitment and training of new hires.
Ideally, we would like to highlight Breakfast in the Classroom, lunch service at elementary/middle school/high school, transport and drivers and Central Kitchen production.
The video could be as simple as footage with background music, or as elaborate as a short documentary with commentary and interviews in addition to the footage.
The end result should be 8-12 minutes in length.
If you have student/students that would be interested in this project, please contact Nutritional Services with interest for further discussion.
We appreciate your assistance in helping us support our students??? talents and provide much needed exposure to our employees.
