The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application opens on Oct 1 and this is key to getting our students access to the funding they will need to attend college. All staff assisting with FAFSA applications for our seniors need to be trained. As a support, Mary Dorr, from KCKCC, will be available to train staff on Wednesday, Sept 18 at Wyandotte High School, in the auditorium, from 1:00-3:00.

All Diploma+ staff in your school will be supporting students and their families in completing the FASFA. The following people will need to be trained:
??? Lead CCC
??? All Counselors
??? Facilitator
??? K-State College Adviser

If you have any questions, please contact Lindsey Schneider by email at lindsey.schneider@kckps.org

Spelling Bee in KCKPS

from Tracy Cooper
The 2020 Wyandotte County Spelling Bee will be hosted by KCKPS and held at Wyandotte High School on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 9:30. Building spelling bee sponsors will organize a process at the building level (elementary & middle schools, grades 3-8) to determine a student to represent each building at the county spelling bee. Chosen sponsors in each building must complete the form at here by September 21. Each building/sponsor will then be registered with Scripps to support preparation for the building and county bees. A sponsor meeting will be scheduled in October. One building sponsor per building will be compensated for 10 extra duty hours.
